Speechless

Someone I knew died today. From complications post child birth. Who dies that way anymore? All I can think about is her brand new baby who is a week old today, the day his mom died and how her husband must be in such a terrible state. I went to her shower on the Friday before Thanksgiving and although she was freaked out, she was excited.

So sorry Jo, you friends family must be distraught, especially dealing with the holidays too.

Last year, the baby of one of my best friends died when she was 34 weeks pregnant. It happeded right before Christmas while her husband was on a business trip. It was horrible and there just wasn't anything to say that wasn't completely cliche.

The hardest part was that we didn't think that something like that could happen that late in the pregnancy...we figured if there were complications, she would just deliver early and deal with a preemie...they never did get any answers as to what happened...that would be the hardest part for me.

Oh, god, that's horrible. It is so terribly rare, yet my husband's cousin was in very dire condition after the birth of her first child and was in the hospital nearly a month with an infection.

I certainly hope the husband of your friend has a lot of support at this very sad time.

Oh god, Jo that's awful. So sorry for you, and especially for her poor family. Tragic.

I'm so sorry to hear this. The same thing happened to my neighbor a year ago. So, so sad. The father moved and is living near his parents with the baby. Just tragic. *Hugs* to you.

I'm sorry. It's good that you now know why/how she died, but that doesn't make it any better.
