Articulation

I have just received yet another plea for money from America's Second Harvest. I'm now forced to write to them. This is a minimum of 5 pleas for money in the last month and a half. This annoys the crap out of me and makes me not want to contribute to them anymore (I presently do a monthly contribution to them directly from my bank account). My problem is I can't articulate why this annoys me so much. It just does. Any ideas?

Perhaps you feel like they aren't expressing enough gratitude for your current contributions and that their constant begging means that they think you aren't doing enough.

If I am you, I would also ask them to convence me that it is reaching the righht people, before they ask again.

Sometimes the money goes beyond all our imaginations

It's totally intrusive. If I were in your shoes, I'd threaten to discontinue my current giving as it was obviously going straight to the postage-for-more-pleas fund. Tell them that you are already giving all you are able to give, and would like to be taking off of their database for any purposes other than tax reasons.

I had to stop giving to one charity because they kept selling my name to other charities. I actually had to threaten two but one of them complied and the other didn't. I wish I could support them more in an anonymous way but oh well, they shot themselves in the foot with me. I feel your pain.

Oh, that reminds me, that since I gave to the Humane Society's Katrina Fund they have done nothing but hound us for more money and it gets my goad that they keep addressing everything to my husband even though he had nothing to do with it, his name is just first on the check...read the signature people...I am the giver, not him!!!
