What's going on for Thanksgiving?

Do you guys want to come visit me? I promise to cook a real turkey and not a tofurkey.

Hmm... a possibility I hadn't considered. Would you deep fry it?? :) It's been awhile since we've done our mad shopping trip at the buttcrack of dawn on the day after so this could be fun. I will consult airfares and come up with a good answer. :)

Hell yeah, I would deep fry it.

Ew.

Tasty, yes, but ew.

Imagine my confusion when I thought Joanne had posted on her blog and then followed that up with the first comment.

Silly Peon.

MP, since the oil is at such a high heat, the skin is seared on contact, which seals in the juices and keeps out the oil so that what you are left with is the juiciest bird that isn't even remotely greasy. Plus, it only takes 2.5 minutes per pound to cook. Also, you are invited as well.

Yay!! I'm invited! I'll have to see if I can afford a November vacation, since I'm going to Hawai'i in January.

I can't stop thinking about deep fried turkey now.

Not so silly a peon, Kate... I thought the same thing!

I'm still undecided about the whole deep-fried turkey issue... I think you should extend me an invitation so I can settle the internal debate once and for all.

Ok, whoever who will be in LA around Thanksgiving and is willing to submit to a criminal and lifestyle background check is invited.

Joanne said...

Oh wait, well if Matthew's invited I don't know if I want to go.

Eh, I'll survive it I suppose.

Shut it, you.

Excellent. My record's spotless. Uh... what date is U.S. Turkey Day? Ours is Oct 10.

Peeved Michelle said...

Oh, right, like I am going to take your word for it. I said submit! You shall submit! Thanksgiving is on November 24th this year.

P'nut said...

I. Shall. Submit.

By the way, background checks cost some serious moolah, don't they? Thorough ones, at least.

Can I just have my mom call you? It might save you a few bucks.

PM: Careful of P'nut. Some moms lie. :P

But way to whip her into shape!

I guess it depends if you're in Canada or the US, but it seems awfully early to be thinking about Thanksgiving. Unless you're having it early? In which case, tell me the date and time and I'm there! :)
